An Introduction to Inazuma

Inazuma’s design is inspired by Japan and worships the Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon. The nation remained closed off to outsiders for a year prior to the events of the game as a result of the Sakoku degree.

In order to explore Inazuma, you will need to leave Ritou Harbor by getting beyond the guards around the area. However, returning or traveling near Ritou Harbor on foot near the area following this will alert them and send you back inside the walls. To freely explore Ritou, you must complete the Ritou Escape Plan questline.

With the Vision Hunt Decree in full effect, seeking to strip those living in Inazuma of their Visions, much of the region is currently undergoing a civil war between those who support the Raiden Shogun’s efforts, and those stood opposed to it serving under Sanganomiya Kokomi of Sanganomiya Shrine.

Key Locations

Inazuma is split into six named islands: Narukami Island, Kannzaku, Yashiori Island, Watatsumi Island, Seirai Island and Tsurumi Island.

Narukami Island is the first island you visit and the central location within Inazuma. It is here you will enter the region in Ritou Harbor as well as find the main city in the region, Inazuma City. The Kamisato Estate, home to the Kamisato Clan and the location where you can collect Reputation Rewards, Requests and Bounties, as well as Grand Narukami Shrine where the Sacred Sakura resides are also on this island.

Exploration of Yashiori Island, Seirai Island and Tsurumi Island are difficult to explore due to the presence of eternal thunderstorms and fog surrounding these locations and preventing exploration. By completing world quests, these hindrances can be cleared to make exploration simpler.

The Kujou Encampment can be found in Kannazaku, while Sanganomiya Shrine resides on Watatsumi Island. The Maguu Kenki is found on Yashiori Island, the Thunder Manifestation boss fight can be found on the electrified plains of Seirai Island, with the Golden Wolflord found on Tsurumi Island.

Inazuma Lore: The History of Inazuma

Inazuma is ruled by the Electro Archon, the Raiden Shogun. While she continues to rule over her people in Inazuma, she doesn't directly communicate with them, instead being relayed the events of the world through the various Commissions who run day-to-day operations in the region. One year prior to the events the game, thanks to the influence of the Tenryou and Kanjou Commission, the Shogun implements both the Sakoku Decree, shutting Inazuma off to the rest of Teyvat, and the Vision Hunt Decree, banning the use of Visions within Inazuma and calling for the confiscation of Visions from all residents. Since this moment, no new Electro Visions have appeared in the world.

In opposition to this, a young man sought to stand against the decree and fought in a Dual Before the Throne, but lost to Kujou Sara, a member of the Kujou clan of the Tenryou Commission and one of those overseeing the Vision Hunt Decree. Following this, the Sanganomiya Resistance is formed to fight back against the Decree, overseen by Sanganomiya Kokomi on Watatsumi Island. They have been at civil war with the Shogunate Army ever since, currently resulting in a stalemate between the two sides.

Easily Explore Inazuma: How to Remove the Thunderstorms and Fog from Yashiori, Seirai and Tsurumi Island

Exploration in Inazuma is difficult due to the hazards that Genshin Impact presents to players trying to traverse its environment. Parts of Yashiori Island and the entirety of Seirai Island are enveloped in thunderstorms that can hit the player at any time, while it is impossible to progress through much of Tsurumi Island initially due to the thick fog.

Luckily, these hurdles can be removed as you progress through the story and explore Inazuma further.

To stop the thunderstorms enveloping Yashiori Island, it is necessary to complete the Orobashi’s Legacy quest line that can be started by speaking with Kaji on Yashiori Island. This is a long questline that involves completing a sequence of electro puzzles and defeating waves of enemies around the island. Although this is a long, multi-part quest, with each part completed areas of the island become easier to traverse making progress visible throughout the questline, and the reward of no longer risking your life exploring the land is more than worth it.

This is a similar situation to the storm plaguing Seirai Island. To clear the skies around Seirai Island requires you to complete the Seirai Stormchasers quest, which requires players to find and repair various warding stones found around the island. You can check out the full IGN guide on that quest line here.

The fog around Tsurumi Island makes it impossible to navigate the inner areas of the island without making your way through the Through the Mists questline. This line requires an Electro character for various moments as you complete the ceremony for some of the island’s remaining inhabitants, but the reward is the end of fog on the land and the ability to freely explore this final island of the Inazuma region.

Inazuma Domains

Inazuma contains a total of 6 domains:

  • Court of Flowing Sand Domain
  • Violet Court
  • Momoji Dyed Court
  • Slumbering Court
  • End of the Oneiric Euthymia
  • Narukami Island: Tenshukaku

Inazuma Shrine of Depths Locations

Inazuma Shrine of Depths can be found all over the region, and must be unlocked by either completing Chapter II: Act II - Stillness, The Sublimation Of Shadow, reaching Statue of the Seven levels 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, or reaching Sacred Sakura levels 8, 18, 28 and 38.

The first Shrine on Narukami Island is near Ritou Island, but you’ll need to unlock a Waverider Waypoint before you can reach it. The second Shrine is on a small rocky rise east of the Chinju Forest teleport point.

Tatarasuna Island also has two Shrines. The easiest way to approach these is from the southernmost waypoint. First, travel north to reach one of these shrines, then drop off the cliff southwest of the teleport point to find the second one.

Two more Shrines can be found on Yashiori Island, near the Maguu Kenki battlegrounds. The first of these is on a ledge just above Maguu Kenki, near the teleport waypoint. The second is south of the Formation Estate Domain.

One Shrine can be found on the northern part of Watatsumi Island, at water level underneath a rocky overhang near on the inner side of the outer green cliffs of the island.

Seirai Island also only has one Shrine, and can be found by heading west from the island’s Statue of the Seven, where it can be spotted in the open plains.

The final two Shrines are found on Tsurumi Island, and you can access them even if you haven’t cleared the fog. One is northwest of the first waypoint, near the southern edge of the small island where you can also find Chirai Shrine. The second Shrine is to the west of the island, on a small cliff northwest of Oina Beach.
